Form-Making of Finale of G. G. Vdovin’s Vocal-Choreographic Suite "Тейтерень пия кудо" ("Maiden House of Beer") as Reflection of Ritual Performance Dramaturgy

Abstract. The purpose of the study is to substantiate connection between the musical form of the finale of G. G. Vdovin’s vocal-choreographic suite "Тейтерень пия кудо" ("Maiden House of Beer") and ritual performance dramaturgy. Scientific novelty of the study lies in paying attention to the musical form of the longest piece of the Suite, which has not been analysed from the standpoint of form-making yet. As a result, it is found that the composer used the cyclical principle for the finale. Framed by an introduction and a choral coda, the finale consists of two parts: 1) sequence of musical and poetic stanzas grouped according to the principle of the "chain" form; 2) a number of dance episodes, the order and nature of which are determined by the tradition of celebrating the final day of festivities.
