Spirituality as Intra-Dialogue Form in Globalization Epoch: Russia and China

Abstract. The paper aims to provide a comparative analysis of the Russian and Chinese scientific theories and to identify similarities in interpretation of spirituality, which constitutes a basis for the Russian-Chinese dialogue. The article presents a theoretical survey of the existing views on spirituality considered as a phenomenon inherent in any society based on traditional and universal values. Humanism, with its national specificity, is understood as a spiritual link between the two cultures. Scientific originality of the study is conditioned by the fact that spirituality is interpreted within the paradigm "Me - the Other" and also by the fact that the researchers compare the Chinese and Russian cultural code "spirituality". The findings indicate that in the Russian cultural space, spirituality is not identified with religiosity, though these conceptions are often interrelated, whereas the Chinese understanding of spirituality is based on the Marxist-Leninist ideological values and traditional religious and philosophical doctrines.
