B. SHARAV’S PAINTING IN THE CONTEXT OF THE EURASIAN ART TRENDS

Abstract. The article analyses the formation of the original style of the Mongolian art - "Mongol zurag", the foundations of which were laid by the artist B. Sharav (1869-1939). The authors for the first time conduct a comparative analysis with the similar art styles and the Eurasian art trends. It is shown that this style developed within the traditions of the Buddhist, Chinese and Korean art, there are obvious parallels with the folk primitivistic style, Soviet-Russian and European painting. Similarity of the style manifests itself in the tendency for narration, diminutiveness, conventionality of an image containing numerous scenes, in the compositional solution - a view from a high point, "a bird’s-eye view".
