Adaptation challenges of pedagogical students at the university: Assessment and ways of overcoming

Abstract. The research aims to identify the correspondence between the capabilities of students and the requirements of the university through the examination of students’ subjective perception of learning challenges. The article considers the features and components of university adaptation. Based on empirical research and a comparison of the difficulties experienced by first-year students and students in their second to fourth years, the challenges of learning and self-regulation of modern students are shown. The novelty of the research lies in developing diagnostic tools that allow for the assessment of the prerequisites for successful adaptation and challenges among students in the process of adapting to the university, in identifying the characteristic difficulties of students in the areas of social and didactic adaptation. As a result of the research, approaches to overcoming the challenges faced by students in the learning process are outlined.
