Teaching Foreign-Language Monologic Speech on the Basis of TED (Technology Entertainment Design) Talks to Higher School Students

Abstract. The article considers the problem of teaching foreign-language monologic speech within the framework of professionally oriented foreign-language training at higher school. The paper aims to justify the reasonability of using TED (Technology Entertainment Design) Talks while teaching foreign-language monologic speech. The author proposes a system of exercises for teaching foreign-language monologic speech on the basis of TED Talks. The findings justify the efficiency of TED Talks when forming foreign-language monologic speech skills, it allows taking into account students’ language competence level, satisfies their cognitive needs.
