ON ONE OF THE ESSENCES OF THE ROMANTIC IN THE PIANO ART OF ROBERT SCHUMANN

Abstract. One of essences of the romantic in the piano art of Robert Schumann realizes itself in the pursuit of the absolute. Its most important reason is the radicalism of aspirations, including those associated with the ethics of maximalism. The principle of the absolute finds its vivid expression in the capture of the increased intensity of life processes, which implies both the highest tension of inner life and the exceptional activity of manifestations directed outwards. Everything in art connected with the world of fantasy, which in a number of cases passes into the sphere of the fantastic, becomes the most important hypostasis of the principle of the absolute.
