KAGYU-PA AND NILA-RANGMA RITUAL PRACTICE AS A PHILOSOPHICAL SOURCE

Abstract. The article is devoted to studying external manifestations of Shaivist and Buddhist Tantra as philosophical sources. The paper examines the results of 2011 expedition of the Centre for Religious Studies of the Russian State University for the Humanities to Northern India. The article provides a comparative analysis of the forms, places and practices of worshipping gods in Nila-Rangma and Kagyu-pa traditions. Relying on the research findings the author claims about existence of common shrines of the Shaivists and the Tantric Buddhists in Uttar Pradesh state, identifies similarities in ritual practices and traditions of worshiping common gods of these schools.
