ARCHITECTURAL FANTASIES IN THE FINE ART OF THE RENAISSANCE

Abstract. The article analyzes the features of Renaissance culture, which led to the emergence of architectural fantasies as independent works of fine art. The author describes a number of works that determined the development of this type of architectural landscape in easel and monumental painting, scenography and printed graphics. The main themes are revealed - the image of the idealized past and present through images of architecture, the depiction of fantastic structures as a metaphor.
