Abstract. The relevance of the research is in the identification of the basic methodological principles of the professional concertmaster’s work. A number of works, covering the consideration of this issue in the methodological and applied perspective, are analyzed. The author reveals the main stages of the work of the concertmaster - a valuable performer of the ensemble. The ability of the concertmaster to find a general conception of the interpretation of the work, without which it is not possible to form an integral artistic image, plays an important role.
