Abstract. The article considers the orchestral creative work of the modern Crimean-Tatar composer Merzie Khalitova. The genre of epitaph in the musical culture of the Crimean Tatars has not been studied yet; therefore the holistic analysis of "Epitaph for Cello and String Orchestra" by Merzie Khalitova makes it possible to get an idea of modern Crimean-Tatar professional music. The author of the work combines in the original form polyphonic techniques with the modern writing technique.
