Abstract. The article touches upon the problem of concert repertoire formation for accordion and partly the issues of performance in China during Cultural Revolution (1966-1976). The themes, images of that time were embodied in the most common genre - instrumental arrangement. The analysis of the main directions in the development of the genre of arrangement and the Chinese accordion performance in general is conducted by the example of some compositions for accordion created by Yang Zhihua, Zeng Jian.
