PROJECTS OF SECOND-CLASS SCHOOLS TRANSFORMATION IN RUSSIA AT THE BEGINNING OF THE XX CENTURY

Abstract. This article considers the position of second-class schools in Russia at the beginning of the XX century. The author reveals the objectives, the level of training, and the dynamics of teacher training institutions development. Particular attention is paid to their reformation. Basing on the analysis of documentary sources the main directions of the transformation of teachers’ schools are identified, and the conditions and mechanisms of this process are clarified. It is shown that most of the projects, despite actions undertaken by spiritual agency, were not implemented.
