THE SIXTH SYMPHONY BY N. YA. MYASKOVSKY IN THE CONTEXT OF ANALYTICAL PSYCHOLOGY

Abstract. The article has a polemical character and disagrees with L. O. Akopyan’s view, who criticizes N. Ya. Myaskovsky’s Sixth Symphony for its one-dimensional plot. Appealing to the researcher’s works, the author emphasizes his interest in the universal constants of human psychics and characterizes the symphony living archetypes of shadow, Thanatos and anima with their multidimensional symbolics, not in the least unambiguous. Thanks to their subtext position correlating with universal truth stratified, not one-dimensional dramaturgic space is formed in the symphony. The pulsation of archetypes creates an algorithm promoting the conception integrity of one of the best symphonies of the composer.
