Abstract. The article is devoted to a little-studied jazz style "ethno-jazz" built on the interaction of jazz vocabulary and the elements of the folklore of the peoples of the world. The authors examined one of the trends of ethnic jazz development - "polyethnos", which allowed jazz to speak all the languages of the world uniting ethnocultural traditions of various regions of the planet. By mixing popular folklore traditions (often in the framework of one composition) jazz reflected a "motley" multicultural picture of the modern world and demonstrated a capacity to intercultural dialogue. Ethno-jazz is one of bright musical styles in the diversity of contemporary music .
