ON PROBLEM OF BUDDHIST PHILOSOPHICAL SANSKRIT TERMINOLOGY TRANSLATION

Abstract. In the article the author considers the problems that arise while translating the Buddhist philosophical terminology. The author criticizes some translation patterns such as changing the Sanskrit terms into European philosophical ones that inevitably misrepresents the essence of the Buddhist philosophical ideas, which leads to the appearance of "parallel" texts instead of appropriate translations. The author insists on the necessity of preserving all basic philosophical Sanskrit vocabulary in text while translating that should be interpreted in all possible ways.
