Abstract. This article is devoted to the analysis of the conceptions of the leading representatives of phenomenology in aesthetics (N. Hartmann, R. Ingarden, M. Dufrenne) concerning the interpretation of painting work structure as an aesthetic object. The multi-layered structure of picture is considered, as it is one of its key features as an aesthetic object, which provides the richness of meaning and the expression of painting work as a whole. In addition, the comparison of these authors’ ideas about the structure of painting with artistic practice is presented.
