Animal names in the Arabic-Tatar dictionary "Al-Mufid" by Tagir Ilyasi

Abstract. The purpose of the study is to identify the main directions of development of the thematic group "animal names" at the beginning of the 20th century, dynamic processes in semantics, the structure of zoonyms. The scientific novelty lies in the fact that for the first time in the Tatar language, the names of animals recorded in the Arabic-Tatar dictionary of T. Ilyasi are studied. In the course of the work. The corpus of zoonyms was determined, the peculiarities of their presentation in the dictionary were studied, new zoonyms were identified. Synonyms, semantic, structural changes of the word, phonetic variants, names with the seme "gender" were considered, the author's language preferences were revealed. As a result of the study, it was found that the dictionary "Al-Mufid" by T. Ilyasi not only contains a significant number of terms, but also reflects the processes characteristic of this period of vocabulary development: the occurrence of borrowings, the search for equivalents in the Tatar language.
