Abstract. The book under review presents the first volume of short stories by Pu Songling (1640-1715) translated from Chinese by Academician V. M. Alekseev and Professor A. G. Storozhuk. This is the first complete edition in our country of all the works of the medieval Chinese writer, who is extremely popular not only in his own country, but throughout the world.
