Specifics of Image and Text Interaction in Creolized Meme (by the Example of Memes Based on the Harry Potter Film Cycle)

Abstract. The aim of the study is to identify the specifics of representing the meanings that arise at the junction of the textual and pictorial components of creolized memes related to the world of Harry Potter depending on the nature of the image and the features of the text. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the fact that for the first time the interaction of images and texts in memes created according to the Harry Potter cycle has been characterized. As a result, memes have been classified according to the types of images and the correlation of the text component with the original source; the most frequent types have been identified; the ways of interaction between the image and the text as well as the most common constructions have been revealed; the ways of transforming quotes from other sources have been considered.
