Determining Mutual Contingency Coefficient in the Russian and Chuvash Newspaper Texts

Abstract. The article aims to create an impartial picture of part-of-speech frequency in the Russian and Chuvash publicist texts in the comparative-contrastive aspect. A simple count of parts of speech provides little information on their functioning. It is much more effective to determine a degree of statistical cohesion between them, with its value changing based on a genre of newspaper speech. The findings of the research have demonstrated that both the languages possess specific means of creating newspaper speech, display peculiarities of a style, genre, as well as typological singularity.
