Abstract. The study aims to present the hierarchical structure of the lexico-semantic field "Migrant" basing on the modern American migration literature. The research is novel in that it analyses the content of the lexemes constituting the lexico-semantic field and significant to a linguocultural analysis of the migration literature’s text. As a result of the study, key and additional components of the meaning of the lexemes denominating the migrant image in the fiction text were ascertained and described, and semantic groups of the verbs collocating with the field units were identified. The results showed that there are additional linguocultural characteristics of the migrant image in modern fiction.
