Linguistic Representation of Information Source in Situation of Rumour (by the Material of the English-Language Media Texts)

Abstract. The article is devoted to the relevant problem of information verification. The paper aims to study the means of linguistic representation of the information source in the English-language mass media. Originality of the study involves identifying how reliable the information presented in the mass media is by analysing the semantics of the lexical units representing the information source. The research findings allow concluding about a special role of certain pragma-communicative factors actualized at lexical, morphological and syntactic levels.
