Psycholinguistic Foundations of Simultaneous Translation

Abstract. The article considers psycholinguistic aspects of simultaneous translation activity. The paper introduces the authors’ vision of this problem. Structural description of the cognitive system of simultaneous translation is presented. Originality of the study lies in the fact that for the first time in domestic translation studies, the authors propose the techniques to raise stress resistance of cognitive elements. The findings indicate that stress resistance of cognitive mechanisms is achieved mostly by taking into account the situations that affect the state of linguistic consciousness.
