EMPHATIC INVERSION AS A MEANS OF LOGICAL EMPHASIS AND COHESION IN SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNICAL DISCOURSE

Abstract. The aim of the work is to reveal the peculiarities of inversion functioning in scientific and technical texts. The novelty of the study is that for the first time the authors present the most complete list of structures with inversion and find out that the main functions of inversion in scientific and technical texts are marking the components of actual division, emphasis and ensuring text coherence. As a result of the study, the authors suggest ways of extracting and conveying a statement meaning. Topicality is conditioned by the results importance for teaching translation and creating a logically coherent text in the context of the increased need for scientific and technical information exchange.
