Abstract. The article is devoted to analysing phraseological units with a numeric component in the modern German language. The analysis of lexicographical sources has allowed the authors to differentiate thematic groups, to reveal semantic value and peculiarities of functioning of these phraseological units. The spheres of their most frequent / least frequent use are identified. The paper covers such issues as pragmatic value of phraseological units, their functional-stylistic characteristics, nominative and expressive functions, which broadens the scope of this study.
