LEXICO-SEMANTIC PECULIARITIES OF ZOONYMS FORMATION IN THE TATAR LANGUAGE

Abstract. In the article the data of the lexico-semantic analysis of the Tatar zoonyms used for naming pets in the Tatar language are presented. The main attention is drawn to the description of the lexico-semantic principles of the formation of the zoonyms collected by the continuous sampling method from fiction, as well as during a written survey of the residents of the Republic of Tatarstan. The authors come to the conclusion about the specificity of naming animals in the Tatar language, the specificity of borrowed names, identify typical word-formative models, emphasize the connection of zoonymy with the traditions and culture of the people, and present several types of generalizing classifications of such names.
