TYPES OF ENGLISH CAUSATIVE CONSTRUCTIONS WITH PREPOSITIONAL TRANSITIVE VERBS

Abstract. The article analyzes the use of causative prepositional transitive verbs in the modern English language. Analyzing factual material the author identifies different types of causative constructions, in which verbs transfer the actions aimed to change the object’s physical conditions, its features or actions influencing cause-effect relations and nature of the situation. Causative constructions can be dynamic or static. The use of abstract nouns complicates the semantic structure of a sentence implicating imparted propositions. The suggested analysis allows deeper understanding of different types of English causative constructions.
