PECULIARITIES OF THE SPANISH LANGUAGE IN THE REPUBLIC OF EL SALVADOR

Abstract. The article is devoted to the study of some peculiarities of the national variant of the Spanish language in the Republic of El Salvador. In this regard, the historical preconditions for the formation of El Salvador national language are studied: the period of colonization and spreading of the Spanish language within the territory of the Republic is considered, and the impact of the indigenous Indian population’s languages on the Spanish language is analyzed. Further the authors give concrete examples of differences between El Salvador language and other variants of the Spanish language (primarily Pyrenean) on the phonetic, grammatical and lexical levels.
