Abstract. Animal husbandry has long been one of the main economic activities of the Turkic peoples. Domestic animals and livestock activity occupy a rather large place in folk aphorisms, among which proverbs and sayings are the most vivid and expressive. The conclusions and thoughts accumulated by life experience and centuries-old observations of the Tatars are expressed in them, by transferring the character, behavior and actions of some animals to humans. In the article the authors, analyzing the corpus of Tatar proverbs and sayings, come to the conclusion that they make it possible to visualize not only the nature of creative thought, but also the daily economic activity of the Tatar people.
