AFFIXAL COMBINATORICS AND SEMANTICS IN TERMINOLOGY (BY THE MATERIAL OF RAILWAY TERMS OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE)

Abstract. The article deals with the features of affixes combinatorics in terms, as well as the specificity of word-formative meanings that appear in this case. The analysis of the practical linguistic material of the railway transport terms in comparison with the common vocabulary is given. It is shown that in terminological vocabulary the interrelationship between the semantic features of the derived units and the features of affixal combinatorics is particularly highlighted.
