Abstract. This article is the result of a psycholinguistic experimental study conducted in groups of hearing and hard-of-hearing adolescents to identify the structure of the notion "envy" in common consciousness. The aim of the work is to construct a semantic-synonymous field, which is a collection of lexical units, obtained by summing words-synonyms and word-associations. The conception of a semantic-synonymic field is confirmed by coinciding units of synonymous and associative fields constructed according to the proposed by students lists. In turn, the revealed coincidences of priority units of semantic-synonymic fields of two groups of adolescents suggest that the thinking processes in the performance of tasks for writing words-synonyms and word-associations occur in the same zone of the cerebral cortex both for hearing and hard-of-hearing respondents. Units that do not have coincidences in the fields characterize the specificity of the thinking of hearing and hard-of-hearing children as two different ways of encoding and decoding information. Units that do not contain semantic features with respect to the investigated notion "envy" are noted, but they are linked in the minds of the respondents with the given word on some other grounds.
Key words and phrases: слышащие и слабослышащие подростки, структурированность понятия "зависть", концепция семантико-синонимического поля, обыденное сознание, hearing and hard-of-hearing adolescents, structuredness of notion "envy", conception of semantic-synonymic field, common consciousness
