THE REPRESENTATION OF THE NOTION "GAME" IN LANGUAGE AS A BASIC PRINCIPLE OF ANGLO-SAXON MENTALITY

Abstract. By the example of well-known lexical units the article attempts to show how the English language represents the notion "game". In this regard, the authors reveal the language semantics, defining the basic mental characteristics of the representatives of Anglo-Saxon culture through "game" connotations. It is concluded that the principle of "game" is manifested in the language through a wide set of semantic elements embodied as notions, clich?s, sayings and emphatic lexical structures.
