SHAKESPEARE’S SONNETS AS AN INTEGRATED POETICAL CYCLE IN I. Z. FRADKIN’S TRANSLATIONS

Abstract. Over the last fifty years the number of Russian synchronistic translations of Shakespeare’s "Sonnets" has grown considerably. Some translators interpret the "Sonnets" as monolithic poetical collection identifying in it the different means of cycle-formative arrangement. The article aims to analyze translator’s conception of one of the most prominent modern authors - I. Z. Fradkin who strongly believes in the compositional and poetical integrity of Shakespeare’s sonnet collection.
