Abstract. The article examines the methodology to teach oral translation activity under the conditions of continuous linguistic education. The author proposes her own approach to the translation studies syllabus, and describes component structure of cognitive, pragmatic, personal and discursive elements of translator’s competence. The paper provides the examples of actualizing syllabus components at the different stages of linguistic education.
