Abstract. The article by the material of naming the head and its parts examines the polysemy of Crimean Tatar somatic vocabulary. The research findings indicate that the semantic structure of the majority of Crimean Tatar somatic words consists of two or more lexico-semantic variants which were formed due to similarity of object’s external features, location, form, functions performed, etc., i.e. as a result of metaphorical and metonymical transfer.
