LEXICAL-SEMANTIC DERIVATION AS A WAY OF FORMATION OF THEATRICAL TERMINOLOGY IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE

Abstract. The article deals with the question about the place of lexical-semantic derivation in the formation of the theatrical terminology of the English language. In this connection, semantic, morphological and etymological characteristics of units developing terminological meanings are studies, as well as their thematic reference. The main ways of theatrical term formation are described and internal and external factors determining the productivity of various methods are revealed.
