METAPHORICAL AND METONYMIC TRANSFER AS A WAY OF CREATING ENGLISH COMPOSITE WORDS WITH EXOCENTRIC STRUCTURE

Abstract. Exocomposites of English with the whole meaning, based on metaphorization and / or metonymization processes, are considered in the article. Exocomposites are proposed to be considered on a par with idiomatic units in view of rethinking and indirect nomination processes. The lexemes under study do not refer to peripheral phenomena and the nomination models are actively used when creating new words of the English language.
