MORPHOLOGICAL AND WORD-FORMATIVE ADAPTATION OF BORROWED ADJECTIVES AND VERBS OF SCIENTIFIC-TECHNICAL TERMINOLOGY OF THE RUSSIAN LANGUAGE

Abstract. The article is devoted to the analysis of morphological and word-formative adaptation of borrowed scientific-technical terms of the French origin in Russian, represented by adjectives and verbs. Entering the system of the receiving language, adjectives and verbs necessarily undergo grammatical rearrangement, which consists in attaching appropriate affixes and the system of inflections of the Russian language or in substantivisation and entering a class of nouns with obtaining all categories typical of this part of speech in the receiving language. Borrowed adjectives and verbs are also actively included in the word-formative system of the Russian language.
