Abstract. The article is devoted to the work with special texts at the lessons of Russian as a foreign language. It is shown that the special text is not only a source of subject, but also linguistic information. The development of skills of working with texts on specialty becomes a central task in teaching the Russian language to foreign military personnel. The paper presents an example of working with the text on "Engines".
