SYNTACTIC PARALLELISM, ITS TYPES AND FUNCTIONS IN THE TEXTS OF THE RUSSIAN FOLK TALES

Abstract. The article specifies the typology of the forms of syntactic parallelism, considers the embodiment of the mentioned types in the texts of the Russian folk tales. The author analyzes the relation of constructions forms and their semantic content. The conclusion is that the consistent implementation of the principle of combining symmetry with asymmetry in tales leads to the predominance of complex forms of parallelism, which is manifested in the connection of split-level types of parallel structures with partial equivalence, in the spread of various chiastic and ladder structures, in semantic shifts accompanying syntactic parallelism. The paper examines the technique of psychological parallelism. This work also carries out a comparison of parallel syntactic constructions in folk poetry and tales texts.
