IS RADIAL CATEGORY POSSIBLE IN SUBLANGUAGE? (BY THE MATERIAL OF HOMEOPATHY SUBLANGUAGE)

Abstract. The article is devoted to the topical problem of the categorization of professional experience and its verbal expression. Theories and approaches to the non-classical categorization of objects and phenomena of the reality are considered. By the material of the sublanguage of homeopathy the author shows the possibility of non-classical categorization in terminological systems. With the help of component-definitional and contextual types of analysis the paper shows the possibility of the existence of radial categorization of professional experience, the ability of the category to detect prototypical effects, existing in the professional consciousness. Thus, by the material of the homeopathic category "psora" the author demonstrates that it can be objectified by various models - substantive, processual and feature, the first of which is prototypical for the given sublanguage. Processual and feature models are peripheral subcategories. It is concluded that the radial category "psora" is based on metonymic transfer as a cognitive mechanism of recategorization and reinterpretation of knowledge.
