SEMANTIC AND SYNTACTIC ANALYSIS OF DOUBLE OBJECT CONSTRUCTION IN THE RUSSIAN AND CHINESE LANGUAGES

Abstract. The article analyzes double object construction with the meaning "to give". Double object construction usually means predicative construction with two objects. The construction expresses purposeful transfer of an object, feature, state, etc. On the basis of similar semantics the author identifies three types of double object construction. The paper focuses on comparing Russian and Chinese constructions and identifying similar and different in two languages.
