THE LINGUISTIC NATURE OF EUPHEMISMS BY THE MATERIAL OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE

Abstract. The article deals with the linguistic nature of euphemisms in modern English. The relevance of the study consists in insufficient knowledge of the linguistic-cultural features of euphemisms. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of thematic groups of euphemisms. As a result of the comparison of euphemisms in English and Russian a conclusion is drawn that the goal of the use of euphemistic expressions depends on the sphere of their use.
