A WRITTEN MONUMENT ON THE HISTORY OF SHENEKHEN BURYAT

Abstract. The article is devoted to Bodongut Abida’s work on the history of the Agin Buryats’ emigration to China at the beginning of the XX century, which was of the economic and ethnic-protective character. In the domestic historiography until recently it was decided to avoid the mention of the fact of the Buryats’ emigration to China. The main attention is focused on the content of the written monument in the old Mongolian written language. The author considers the structure of the work, for the first time gives the biographical information about the author of the work, obtained directly from B. Abida. In addition, on the basis of the expedition materials, gathered by the author of the article, the current state of Shenekhen Buryats’ language and culture is described.
