ON THE AMBIGUITY OF SINCE CONNECTOR IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE

Abstract. The article analyzes the motives to differentiate such connectors as prepositions and conjunctions in the part-of-speech classification and examines the issue on the ambiguity of since connector which can express both temporal and casual relations between the predications and to establish inter-statement relation as the semantic operators. The author believes that the connectors-conjunctions are grammaticalized prepositions which establish the certain sequence between the propositions.
