ON SOME PECULIARITIES OF THEODOR FONTANE’S POETIC STYLE

Abstract. The manner of narration of the classic of the German literature Theodor Fontane is analyzed from the perspective of the problem of "authenticity". This term introduced by a famous philosopher of the Frankfurt School Theodor Adorno as a feature of the modernist literature has been applied to the realist Fontane only sporadically until now. Considering the author’s strategy of Fontane in terms of "authenticity", the author of the article makes an attempt to enter his creativity in the paradigm of the European Art Nouveau.
