STRUCTURAL AND FUNCTIONAL MODIFICATION OF SENTENCES WITH THE CONJUNCTION IF

Abstract. Syntactic structures with the conjunction if are considered as potentially new types of sentences, which acquire certain formal-syntactic features of autonomy in relation to original models, and the conjunction if serves first of all for contextual connection. The author introduces a new interpretation of the connection mechanism itself. It is interpreted as an addition, and the conjunction if approaches in its meaning to the word of conjunctive-modal nature.
