ON THE REALITIES OF A RUSSIAN FOLK TALE AND THE PROBLEM OF THEIR TRANSLATION OR BEYOND THE THRICE-NINE LAND

Abstract. The subject of examination of this article is the Russian folk fairy-tale. Its peculiarities and place in the nation’s culture are analyzed; realities and approaches to their translation are considered. Special attention is paid to the problems connected with the difficulties of translation, in particular the translation of culture-specific vocabulary. The analysis of different variants of the translation of realities by the examples of two famous Russian folk fairy-tales is conducted. In the paper fairy-tales and their translation are examined in the context of national and language worldview.
