ANALYTISM IN THE CONSTRUCTIONS OF THE FUTURE DESCRIPTION (BY THE MATERIAL OF THE MIDDLE ENGLISH POEM "SIR ORFEO")

Abstract. In the article the peculiarities of the semantics of the proto-modal verbs of the Middle English language used to create the forms of the future expression are described. On the basis of the analysis of the material the author states the fact of the preservation of the modal semantics of the will, desire, promise, moral obligation of these verbs that confirms the non-analytic nature of the verbal constructions used to describe actions and events in the future.
