TEACHING STUDENTS THE REALIA PECULIARITIES AND THEIR TRANSLATION FROM GERMAN INTO RUSSIAN

Abstract. In the article the realia as units of culture-specific vocabulary are studied, the definitions of the realia and their classification according to the subject division are considered, the importance of having the background knowledge of culture and history of the foreign country and the translation technology for correct interpretation of the realia is grounded. The author presents the basic techniques for the realia translation from German into Russian, as well as some exercises to teach students the ability to use these techniques in practice.
